Risk Assessment and Protection Methods for Overload Transmission Lines Considering Dynamic Temperature Rise Characteristics
Recently, the increasing focus on investigating the influence of transmission line temperature on power system operation has propelled the study of line temperature rise modeling into the spotlight in theoretical research areas like line equivalent parameter adjustment, safety risk assessment for line operation, and electrical-thermal coordination scheduling. The traditional temperature rise model still faces challenges in accurately describing the temperature changes along the entire line. Consequently, novel approaches such as finite element models have emerged in recent years. This article examines the two prevalent temperature rise models, scrutinizes the causes and repercussions of transmission line overloads, and outlines the risk assessment and protective strategies for mitigating line overload issues. The exploration in this domain encompasses both theoretical significance and practical engineering applicability.
