Investigation of Synaptic Characteristics in Flexible RRAM with Bio-Material Pectin as Switching Layer
Natural bio-material pectin has been extracted from fresh orange peel and utilized as a switching layer in flexible resistive memory devices. The fabricated flexible devices have demonstrated good resistive switching behavior with high current on/off ratio of 104 and retention time of 103 seconds. The fabricated device has then been investigated for synaptic behavior, probably for the first time, and it demonstrated depression characteristics with 10 ms input pulse. The results indicate that pectin can be further explored for neuromorphic applications in flexible resistive memory devices.
