Synthesis of multisubstituted naphthalenes through consecutive aryne reactions
Abstract Consecutive aryne reactions using naphthodiyne equivalents are disclosed. Selective naphthalyne generations were achieved by selective activation of the silyl or iodo group in a reagent controlled manner. By virtue of the divergence in transformations of aryne intermediates, a wide variety of molecules that contain a naphthalene core were synthesized from simple modules by the consecutive aryne reactions.
