A VDCOL Improvement Strategy for CLCC with Improved Inputs
The high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission technology based on controllable line commutated converter (CLCC) avoids the problem of conventional DC phase commutation failure and provides a brand new way for HVDC transmission to the grid. A voltage dependent current order limiter(VDCOL) optimization control method based on the improved input, which improves the fault response characteristics of CLCC and increases the AC voltage recovery speed of the receiving end grid, is proposed with respect to the technical characteristics of the CLCC controlled converter. Finally, a unipolar CLCC-HVDC simulation model is established to verify the effectiveness and universality of the optimal control based on PSCAD (power systems computer aided design) simulation software.
