Research of Parallel Cable Crosstalk Characteristics Based on TLM

With regard to the parallel wire crosstalk problem in electrical and electronic systems, the degree of wire crosstalk decreases with increasing wire spacing, but when the spacing increases to 10 cm, increasing the spacing no longer effectively reduces crosstalk. The degree of wire crosstalk increases with increasing wire length and wire ground height, with a linear increase with increasing wire ground height. The phenomenon of wire crosstalk exhibits cyclical changes with changing signal frequencies, with a periodic variation frequency approximately equal to the frequency value corresponding to twice the wire length when electromagnetic waves have wavelength of the wire. Crosstalk voltages at the integer multiples of the frequency value appear in the vicinity of the maximum crosstalk voltage. This article uses the transmission line matrix (TLM) method to calculate the effects of cable type, wire spacing distance, wire length, and wire ground height on wire crosstalk, and explores effective methods for reducing wire crosstalk. Research shows that in comparison to increasing the spacing distance, selecting cables with an anti-interference layer is an effective method for reducing crosstalk. Coaxial cables have the best anti-interference performance, and can reduce near-end crosstalk voltage to 0.02 V.
