Integration of DEM and OSM Data for Development of VR-Based Vehicle Driving Simulation
This paper proposes the development of a vehicle driving VR simulation that generates 3D terrain and roads by integrating Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data and OpenStreetMap (OSM) information within the Unity engine. By combining DEM and OSM data, the system simulates real driving conditions, ensuring that vehicles only drive on roads defined by OSM data. The implementation demonstrates the effectiveness of this approach for applications such as driver training and geographic exploration, providing immersive experiences enhanced by VR technology. This study demonstrates the potential for application in various areas by integrating geographical data into a virtual environment to create a real environment in VR.
