Examination of Gear Change Transients of a Twin Synchronous Motor Drive Fitted to a Gear Unit with a Common Output Shaft
The target area of the research is the measurement of the gear change transient of a synchronous motor drive mounted on a common output shaft. The two synchronous motors are a type of motor developed for permanent magnet vehicle propulsion. During the measurements of the drive chain, we encountered the task of what transient phenomena take place between the engine and the output shaft during the shifting process. The objective of the research is based on how the robotic torque converter behaves during shifting and whether it causes an operational abnormality that adversely affects the operation of the drive chain. The measurement was carried out on a drive chain in which two synchronous machines drive into a common gearbox, and then provide the drive torque to the differential through an output shaft.
