Micro LED Pixel Circuit with Threshold Voltage Compensation
The display is applied to many electronic products such as computers, smartphones, and TVs. In particular, Micro LEDs are evaluated as one of the next-generation displays and many studies are currently underway. This study examines a micro pixel circuit featuring a-IGZO TFT, incorporating a PWM method that adjusts pulse width based on the signal magnitude. And it aims not only to compensate for the threshold voltage but also to improve the inrush current phenomenon. When the threshold voltages of the two drive transistors in the previously proposed pixel circuit vary, the error rate values were from 0.015% to 0.90%. When the threshold voltages of two driving TFTs of the proposed pixel circuit, change, the error rate values came out from 0.053% to 0.144%. Finally, the simulation results confirmed that not only the threshold voltage compensation but also the inrush current phenomenon was improved through the proposed pixel circuit.
