Vibration Measurement and Analysis of Rails and Signal Bonds on the Kyushu Shinkansen
In this study, we aim to elucidate the impact of vibrations caused by trains on the degradation of welded parts on signal bonds attached to the rails. These signal bonds tend to fall off due to aging. We measured and analyzed the vibrations of the rails and the signal bonds at specific locations on the Kyushu Shinkansen. As a result, the vibrations of 53 trains passing through were recorded. It was found that unexpectedly large vibrations were generated at a point where the signal bond tended to fall off. It is conceivable that the results of this study will contribute to the improvement of maintenance efficiency.
