Electrochemical Investigation of Zirconia and Biochar-based Materials
The hybrid materials composed of zirconia and biochar have been used as electrode materials for supercapacitors. ZrO2 nanoparticles (ZrO2 NPs) have been produced via the sol-gel process. The leaves of Ficus religiosa have been used to prepare biochar. The ZrO2 NPs and biochar-based hybrid material (ZrO2/Biochar) were prepared under ultrasonic conditions. ZrO2/Biochar has been characterized by various analytical techniques. The electrochemical investigation of ZrO2/Biochar was done under three and two electrode systems, respectively. After 5000 GCD cycles, it was found that ZrO2/Biochar had a cyclic stability of 95.8%. The ZrO2/Biochar was determined to be appropriate for the device system, and a two-electrode system exhibited a specific capacitance of 45.5F/g.
