Human Perception on Weight in Networked Virtual Environment with Haptic Sense

In this paper, to improve the efficiency of QoS control, we developed a networked golden dolphin system with haptic feedback and an AI server that provides optimal parameters for QoS control based on data training. As the first step in our research, we aim to clarify the relationship between weight perception, which is a crucial parameter for QoS control, by experiment. In our experiment, each user is asked to lift a golden dolphin and determine whether the weight has changed when adjustments are made. We also vary the size of the golden dolphin to examine whether human perception is influenced by the object's size. The experimental results show that all subjects can perceive weight changes when the difference is larger than about 40 gf.
