Performance Evaluation in UAV-IRS Communication System with IRS Radiation Pattern
In this study, we evaluated the performance of the achievable rate in an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) communication system, considering the IRS radiation pattern. First, we modeled the IRS channel taking the radiation pattern into account in a scenario where a UAV supports a user using a fixed IRS. Then, we configured the IRS phase shift matrix to maximize the channel gain. Through experiments, we compared scenarios with and without consid-ering the IRS radiation pattern, emphasizing the importance of developing communication techniques that consider the IRS radiation pattern.
