On the Design of 4/5-Rate Energy-Harvesting Constraint Code

Energy-harvesting sliding-window constrained block codes ensure that within any window of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\ell$</tex> consecutive bits of a binary coded sequence, there are at least <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$t$</tex> 1 's, where <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\ell\leq t\leq \ell$</tex>. This code provides numerous advantages for systems utilizing a large number of sensors, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), wireless sensor networks, and wireless body networks. In this study, we specifically design a 4/5-rate sliding-window constrained block code that guarantees at least <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$t=31$</tex> 's within any prescribed window of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\ell=7$</tex> consecutive bits. The encoding and decoding processes rely solely on simple mapping tables, significantly reducing system complexity.

Abstract

Energy-harvesting sliding-window constrained block codes ensure that within any window of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\ell$</tex> consecutive bits of a binary coded sequence, there are at least <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$t$</tex> 1 's, where <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\ell\leq t\leq \ell$</tex>. This code provides numerous advantages for systems utilizing a large number of sensors, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), wireless sensor networks, and wireless body networks. In this study, we specifically design a 4/5-rate sliding-window constrained block code that guarantees at least <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$t=31$</tex> 's within any prescribed window of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\ell=7$</tex> consecutive bits. The encoding and decoding processes rely solely on simple mapping tables, significantly reducing system complexity.
