A Quantum Cooperative Game Approach to Resilience-Oriented Microgrids Operation
This paper develops a quantum game theoretic model for resilience-oriented operation of microgrids (MGs). Quantum game theory (QGT) leverages the entanglement and superposition features of quantum mechanics to address the complexities of resilience-oriented problems. Quantum entanglement enables a direct connection between players using a share entangled state which is impossible in classical game theory. On the other hand, by enabling initial superposition states the approach will result in a fair game for all players. The proposed approach models MGs as players in a quantum cooperative game, with the objective of ensuring resilience in the face of disruptions. The results show fair distribution of penalty/utility among players, even when the case is uneven. The variational quantum eigensolver is employed to achieve the ground state of Ising Hamiltonian of the corresponding resilience-oriented MG operation. Experiments on a simulated system of MGs validate the effectiveness of the approach.
