Bidirectional Fast Battery Charger for Electric Vehicles
This research study designs a bidirectional battery charger (BBC) for electric vehicles. This charger design allows charging and discharging functions of electric vehicle battery's, encouraging Vvehicle to Grid(V2G) and Grid to vehicle(G2J1 technologies. This technology allows bidirectional transfer of energy between the electric vehicles's Battery and the power grid. To operate G2V function mode, the battery is charged through the power grid. During V2G function mode, the energy residing in the battery is fed back into the grid, which enables electric vehicle battery to function as an energy source, providing the backup power source for the power grid. These technologies improve grid flexibility, optimize energy usage, and decrease the electricity demand during peak hours of electricity. finally, the design of MATLABISimulink model for bidirectional battery charger, focusing on the conditions of V2G and G2V function modes.
