Development of an IoT Based Sugar Tracker Diabetic Monitoring System

The increasing prevalence of diabetes among adults and children presents significant health challenges, particularly for younger individuals who must manage sugar levels, insulin, and diet during critical developmental stages. Existing solutions like Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) and Smart Insulin Pens simplify management but are costly, inconvenient, and require frequent maintenance or recharging. The artificial pancreas offers automated insulin delivery but remains inaccessible due to high costs. To address these challenges, this work introduces the “Sugar Tracker” Diabetic Health Monitoring System using IoT. By integrating flux and pressure sensors, the system estimates sugar levels non-invasively through blood flow and pressure analysis while monitoring parameters like temperature and activity. Data is processed in real-time, with alerts sent via SMS or voice commands, and remote monitoring enabled through cloud integration. Additionally, an invasive kit displays sugar levels on a screen, which can be recognized by the ESP32-CAM and converted into audio output via a speaker, making it especially useful for visually impaired or handicapped individuals. Cost-effective and user-friendly, the system eliminates invasive procedures, reduces maintenance burdens, and supports a healthier, active lifestyle for all users, particularly children.
