Implementation, Validation, and Power Aware Simulation of Low Power 4-bit ALU using Unified Power Format standards
With evolving VLSI design methodologies, complex-ity is rising as the demand for low power becomes increasingly stringent. Validation and simulation methodologies are being pushed to their limits to tackle intricate scenarios and scaleability issues. Stringent low-power requirements primarily drive this increase in verification effort, as advanced power management techniques such as clock gating, power switching, and dynamic voltage scaling introduce additional complexity and necessitate thorough validation. Unified Power Format (UPF) is used in VLSI design, which addresses the increasing complexity of low-power design methodologies. UPF is a standard format that allows designers to specify power management techniques independently of the functional description of the circuit.
