Embracing the Future: Assessing Guest Perspectives for IoT-Driven Smart Hotel Services

The rapid progress of technology has led to the emergence of Internet of Things (IoT) as a game-changing influence in numerous sectors, and the hotel industry is no exception to this trend. Hotels are inculcating IoT into their services to offer an array of innovative features and personalized experiences for guests, enhancing their overall stay and satisfaction. This research targets to explore the readiness and behaviour of hotel guests in adopting such IoT services offered by smart hotels. In order to accomplish this, a study model is developed that integrated technology readiness into a comprehensive framework, combining the Technology Acceptance Model and Theory of Planned Behaviour. The findings of the study revealed the major roles played by various variables, such as technology readiness, attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control, perceived accessibility and perceived usability. All the hypotheses proposed in the study model were confirmed, demonstrating the effectiveness of suggested theoretical framework in capturing guests' behavioural intentions. This research highlights the importance of understanding guest perceptions to successfully implement IoT-based services. Future studies should explore diverse demographics and operational challenges in scaling IoT technologies across hotel segments.
