Scenario-Based Aircraft Nose Wheel Steering Control Modes Design and Modeling
The Nose Wheel Steering System is a sub-system of the Landing Gear System, which provides on-ground operations not only to the aircraft and the pilots but also to the ground crews. In this paper, the steering control modes are designed through a scenario-based approach, and three control modes are determined. The conditions for transitions between control modes are studied in detail. A model is built in MATLAB Stateflow based on the control modes and simulations conducted for three main scenarios verify the design. Limitations of the model such as assumptions of the scenarios are also included.
