Fixed-time Adaptive Actuator Failure Compensation Control for Satellite Systems

In this paper, we propose an adaptive tracking control scheme for nonlinear satellite systems with dynamic uncertainty and unknown actuator failures. A fixed-time adaptive fault-tolerant control scheme is designed by incorporating an adaptive actuator failure compensation method into a smooth function-based backstepping control framework. The control scheme can ensure that its signals remain bounded in the presence of dynamic uncertainties and unknown actuator failures in the satellite system. Additionally, it ensures that the tracking error converges to a predetermined interval within a fixed time. Finally, we demonstrated the effectiveness of the program by performing simulation experiments based on a geostationary orbit satellite.
