Proposing a Blockchain-based Assessment Management Upon Education of Malaysia

The conventional technology-based assessment management system in the education sector frequently faces challenges such as server failures, data breaches, and inefficiencies due to centralized architectures. Blockchain technology (BC), with its decentralized and secure framework, offers a promising solution to these issues. This paper proposes the model of a Blockchain Assessment Management (BAM) to improve the imperfections of traditional technology-based assessment system. The BAM was developed through theoretical analysis, utilizing blockchain's decentralized, secure, and transparent framework, aimed at promoting transparent and fair interaction between educational stakeholders. The key characteristics of the model include decentralized data storage, secure encryption for assessment records, and automated processes for certain assessment tasks, all of which minimize teacher workload while improving transparency and fair grading. While no empirical testing was conducted, the theoretical framework indicates that BAM improves security, transparency, and efficiency in assessment management as compared to existing systems. This paper also addresses potential implementation issues, such as scalability and acceptance. BAM's significance contribution is its specialized application to the Malaysian educational system, providing a more transparent and secure evaluation procedure that solves the unique challenges of this setting.
