Beam Direction Estimation for Spaceborne Circular Scanning Radar

Due to the rotation of spaceborne circular scanning radar antenna, the beam direction is varying in nearly conical shape, which complicates the beam direction calibration than the fixed antenna. In this paper, a beam direction estimation method for circular scanning radar based on echo parameter is demonstrated, which do not depend on calibrator, and facilitates the calibration test.

Abstract

Due to the rotation of spaceborne circular scanning radar antenna, the beam direction is varying in nearly conical shape, which complicates the beam direction calibration than the fixed antenna. In this paper, a beam direction estimation method for circular scanning radar based on echo parameter is demonstrated, which do not depend on calibrator, and facilitates the calibration test.
