Parallel-Connected Distribution Generation System Operating in Islanded Mode Using Improved Droop Control Technique
To maintain dependable and effective operation, especially in islanded microgrid situations, integrating Distributed Generation (DG) units and renewable energy sources into electrical grids has required sophisticated control systems. In the present work a parallel connected DG integrates with solar PV, wind, and Ideal DC Voltage for an islanded microgrid with droop control technique has been proposed. This work used the improved droop control method for parallel-connected DG systems in islanded mode to ensure stable voltage and frequency of the system. The droop control technique, which has been around for a while in AC microgrid load sharing, has been improved to handle the issues of isolated network voltage and frequency stability. Droop coefficients are optimized as part of the proposed approach to improve dynamic responsiveness and reduce circulating currents between parallel inverters. The droop control technique controls voltage and frequency. A model of the proposed system has been modelled in MATLAB/ Simulink and results are verified under shifting load conditions and sources.
