A Comprehensive Analysis of Application Based Linear-Nonlinear loads
This paper comprehensively analyzes linear and nonlinear loads across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Linear loads draw sinusoidal currents, while nonlinear loads like power electronics draw distorted currents, injecting harmonics into the power system. The proliferation of nonlinear loads has led to power quality issues such as voltage distortion.MATLAB/Simulink simulations demonstrate the effects of nonlinear loads on voltage and current waveforms. Innovative mitigation strategies, from traditional filtering to AI-powered control systems, are explored for managing harmonics and ensuring grid stability. Recommendations are made for effectively managing linear and nonlinear loads to maintain power quality and grid stability. Embracing the challenges posed by nonlinear loads and developing robust solutions is crucial for a resilient modern power grid. The future of power systems lies in harnessing advanced technologies and control strategies to mitigate the impact of nonlinear loads while optimizing efficiency and reliability.
