Migration RoadMap for On-Premises ERP To Cloud

This research study describes the complexity and the aspects associated with the process of migration of the on-premise Enterprise Resource Planning systems to the cloud-based ones. Enterprises are much more aware nowadays of the benefits of cloud ERPs in terms of scalability, flexibility, and affordability that are enforcing them to exist in the dynamic environment of business. However, a number of challenges still prevail toward the successful migration process regarding data migration, application simplification, infrastructural issues, and perfect change management. This paper synthesizes the insight from the different stakeholders—senior leadership teams, operations managers, financial specialists, and IT professionals—to give in-depth perceptivity on the journey of migration. The research adds some pragmatic recommendations and industry best practices to help businesses overcome ERP conversion initiatives, based on analyses of various goals and different viewpoints held by co-stakeholders. This research emphasizes stakeholder participation, strategic planning in the face of uncertainty, and systemic framework as important means to help overcome unexpected roadblocks. This paper aims to equip businesses with information and resources to negotiate all complexities in moving their ERPs successfully to the cloud, thus helping them exploit the full power brought about by cloud-based solutions while reducing the risks and challenges that accompany the change.
