The Semantic Parsing and Analysis of Wasting-Thirst Chinese Medicines in Materia Medica of South Yunnan
This study employs the Semantic Resource Processing System for Specialized Domains to conduct an in-depth semantic analysis of Diannan Materia Medica from the Ming Dynasty, with the objective of elucidating the cognitive framework underlying Lan Mao's treatment of Wasting-Thirst disorders and his pharmacological strategies. By systematically identifying and annotating key concepts within the text, the research constructs a complex network of interrelationships among medicinal substances, symptoms, and therapeutic effects, resulting in the development of a comprehensive knowledge graph. The findings indicate that Lan Mao placed significant emphasis on the unique characteristics of medicinal substances, particularly the Four Qi and Five Flavors, and highlighted the multifaceted therapeutic properties of these substances, which he applied in an integrated manner to address diverse symptomatologies associated with Wasting-Thirst disorders. Additionally, his systematic approach to matching the characteristics of Chinese medicines to specific symptoms underscores the precision of his therapeutic methods. This study provides a novel perspective on the traditional Chinese medical treatment of Wasting-Thirst disorders and offers valuable insights for the contemporary application of traditional Chinese medicine.
