Designing of Home Automation based DTMF Using GSM

This paper presents the development of a DTMFbased home automation system using GSM technology. The proposed system leverages Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) signaling and Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) to enable remote control of home appliances. The system architecture consists of an Arduino Uno microcontroller, a DTMF decoder, a GSM module, and relays. The DTMF tones generated by pressing keys on a mobile phone are decoded and used to control the relays connected to home devices. This approach allows for reliable and cost-effective remote operation of appliances, even in areas with limited internet connectivity. The results demonstrate the effectiveness, reliability, and accessibility of the DTMF-based home automation system, making it a promising solution for smart home applications. The key findings are Reliable DTMF-based communication and control, even with limited internet connectivity, through the use of a GSM module. Cost-effective implementation using readily available and low-cost components, making the system accessible to a wider user base. Scalable and modular design that allows easy expansion to accommodate additional home devices. Improved accessibility and user-friendliness, particularly for physically challenged individuals, through the mobile app interface and DTMF-based control.
