Optimization Cooling System of Photovoltaic Thermal Collector System for Sustainable Green Technology

Solar power is considered a promising energy option to meet the growing global demand for energy and to achieve a shift to clean energy. Compared to other renewable energy sources such as radio frequency (RF), solar energy is easily accessible and has a low environmental impact. However, the surface temperature of photovoltaic (PV) panels significantly affects their power output and performance. In this project, a hybrid cooling system was designed and implemented, combining air and water cooling mechanisms. The microcontroller-based control system enables solar panels to generate more energy compared to radio energy harvesting. Air cooling is activated at 35°C, while the water pump operates above 45°C. The results revealed that the peak voltage increased from 15.08V to 16.95V, with a temperature reduction of up to 22°C. The cooled PV system achieved a maximum output power of 9.49W at midday. Moreover, this designed cooling system improved electrical efficiency by 28.37%. The automatic cooling technique effectively reduces cell temperature, enhancing electrical output and overall efficiency for sustainable green technology.
