Bending Characteristics of REBCO Rutherford-Type Cable (FReTC)
The bending characteristics of an HTS (High-temperature Superconductor) REBCO cabling method of the Rutherford-type called FReTC are discussed. A small-scale FReTC cable soldered with 60%Sn-40%Pb were experimentally tested in liquid nitrogen, and the test results were compared with no-soldered cable. The bending behaviors were evaluated using an analytical model elaborated, considering two conditions: Perfect-Slipping Model (PSM) and No-Slipping Model (NSM) based on the TSTC model developed in a previous work. The design study of 45 kA FReTC conductors for a high-field, high-current REBCO cable application is also presented.
