Study of The Effect of Polyethylene Polyamine on The Properties of Epoxy-Diane Resin ED-20 and Its Application in Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy

Due to their unique properties, epoxy adhesives are widely used in mechanical engineering and metallurgy. The work examines adhesive compositions based on epoxy-diane resin ED-20. Polyethylene polyamine (PEPA) in concentrations of 8%, 12%, and 16% was used as a hardener. The influence of PEPA on the properties of ED-20 was studied. The pH, strength, water resistance, heat resistance, conditional working life, and dynamic viscosity of the adhesive compositions were investigated. It was shown that using 12% PEPA is the optimal hardener content in the resin.
