PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS OF GROWTH IN LIFE EXPECTANCY OF THE RUSSIAN POPULATION
Statistical studies of the life expectancy of the population provide an opportunity not only to assess the current problems associated with improving the demographic situation in the country and regions, but also help to justify possible ways to solve them in the future. The information base for the study was Rosstat data, the works of domestic and foreign researchers and scientists on this issue. To obtain a comprehensive assessment of the life expectancy of the population, the article examines the dynamics of the system of indicators of the demographic situation in the country and regions. The results of a statistical study of the main trends and patterns of demographic change in Russia and the Volga Federal District are presented. The factors contributing to an increase in life expectancy of the population, such as an increase in the birth rate and per capita income, and a decrease in the mortality rate, have been identified. The article presents the author’s methodology for evaluating the effectiveness of the regions’ use of their resource potential.
