PROJECT MANAGEMENT AS A MODERN TYPE OF PROJECT ACTIVITY

It should be noted that there is an increase in the demand for project management methods as a modern type of project activity. In this regard, it is important to update theoretical approaches to project management in new conditions, to understand the essence, forms and types of project activities. In this article, the author’s attention is focused on the consideration of project management as a type of management activity; its features as a subjectsubject management model. Unlike traditional subject-object management, which is hierarchical in nature, project management is subject-subject and allows realizing the interests of project participants when coordinating their goals and objectives within the project. At the same time, the need to use it together with other management approaches to achieve results (implementation of goals and objectives, fulfillment of plans, etc.) in the most effective ways is emphasized. It is shown that project management is a special mechanism for interaction between subjects (actors, stakeholders), providing for the coordination of their interests and the implementation of the achievements of project goals. The emphasis is on the use of the project approach (in combination with other management methods) in management to improve its efficiency. Particular emphasis is placed on the expediency of project management in the development of territorial systems (regions), as evidenced by the practice of applying project methods in regions with significant resource and time constraints.
