ESG-REPORTING IN THE AGENDA OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC ENTITIES
In today’s world, where large companies are focused on international markets, the information reflected in financial statements is no longer the only tool for evaluating their activities. Today, investors, stakeholders and society as a whole are striving to gain a better understanding of how companies manage their resources, interact with the environment, solve social issues and implement corporate governance principles. This led to the emergence of the concept of sustainable development, which assumes the harmonious development of the company, taking into account environmental safety, social and corporate responsibility. The purpose of the article is to identify the key areas of development of non-financial reporting by Russian companies. The study analyzed the regulatory and legislative framework governing the disclosure of non-financial performance indicators of companies in the financial statements. The main obstacles faced by Russian companies that disclose information about ESG factors in their reporting, requiring a comprehensive solution, have been identified. The methods used in the study include comparative analysis, monographic, abstract-logical and others, which made it possible to identify the problem and develop recommendations for its solution. The study revealed that despite the difficulties with the implementation of this tool in Russia, its prospects look promising. In the future, non-financial reporting may become an important part of corporate culture and contribute to the sustainable development of Russian business.
