SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-GROWTH FIRMS-GAZELLES IN RUSSIA

High-growth firms (HGF), gazelles, play an important role in the economy, providing job growth, innovation and development of new technologies. Often, their strategies for rapid economic growth and scaling do not take into account the principles of sustainable development. The author proposes a theoretical construct of a dual approach to the issue of sustainable development of high-growth firms, and describes the internal and external factors that allow HGFs to ensure economic growth and compliance with the principles of sustainable development are described. The dual approach combines the traditional economic understanding of sustainable development as the ability to maintain and improve its key indicators of financial and economic efficiency, and the compliance of the company’s activities with the principles of sustainable development. is established. Based on the RBC ratings and RAEX ESG ranking for 2023 and 2022, the author identifies a low share of high-growth firms involved in socially and environmentally responsible initiatives. The identified sustainable developing high-growth firms (Neftisa, Yandex and VkusVill) are characterized by sustainable economic growth and a diversified approach to sustainable practices. The results of the study open up new perspectives for the development of effective policies and corporate strategies aimed at ensuring long-term economic growth, increasing social responsibility and achieving environmental sustainability.
