Experiments with a magnetic cannon

Abstract Video data are presented concerning the operation of a magnetic cannon. Several different experiments were conducted to help explain energy losses that are often observed, even though momentum is conserved to a good approximation. The experiments would be suitable as part of a student project to investigate the operation of a magnetic cannon.
