PRINCIPAIS COMPLICAÇÕES NO PÓS-OPERATÓRIO DE TRAQUEOSTOMIA EM PACIENTES PEDIÁTRICOS: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA
Objective: To identify and classify in the literature the main complications associated with tracheostomy in pediatric patients. Methods: This is an integrative literature review, based on articles published in the last 10 years. The article collection took place from May 1 to May 5, 2024, with searches conducted in the PubMed/MEDLINE databases of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), and Virtual Health Library (VHL), using the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS): “tracheostomy,” “complications,” and “pediatrics,” combined with Boolean operator “AND.” Results: The review, including 9 articles, showed that respiratory physiotherapy is essential for pulmonary rehabilitation in these children, preventing respiratory complications and reducing hospitalizations. However, deficiencies were identified in primary care in Marabá, such as the lack of multidisciplinary teams and specialized support for caregivers in the home environment. These limitations compromise the quality of care and the well-being of the children. Conclusion: The study reinforces the importance of a preventive and proactive approach in managing pediatric tracheostomy to minimize complications and highlights the relevance of respiratory physiotherapy in the comprehensive care of children with tracheostomies.
