Agriculture de conservation des sols et transition agroécologique / Conservation agriculture and agro-ecological transition
Three sessions at the French Academy of Agriculture focused on conservation agriculture (CA) in 2022 and 2023. A review of CA systems showed their interest, but also the diversity of their implementation. To ensure that CA systems are fully part of the agroecological transition, several challenges were identified, such as weed management. These sessions also highlighted the need to develop research in two directions: the first is to conduct participatory approaches with farmers, who are the actors and co-producers of innovations, for the design of CA systems adapted to local contexts; the second is to explore new fields of knowledge, such as the research into better biological regulation of pests or to promote genetic improvement dedicated to interspecific associations.
