Research on design and selection method of helical gear meshing stiffness considering tooth lead modification
Meshing stiffness is a crucial parameter that affects gear transmission characteristics. Accurately calculating the meshing stiffness of gears and comprehensively analyzing the influence of various factors on it are essential for providing reference and guidance for design selection. In this paper, the finite element method is employed to calculate the meshing stiffness of helical gears. Subsequently, axial modification is introduced to estimate the gear meshing stiffness after shape modification. Finally, gear meshing stiffness parameters are analyzed using numerical examples, and a gear design selection principle based on meshing stiffness is derived.
