Design of reference architecture for testing and evaluation of communication equipment driven by digital twin
With its capabilities for virtual-real symbiosis, fusion, and interaction, digital twin (DT) technology has become a pivotal tool for the digital transformation of communication equipment testing and evaluation (T&E). Unlike typical mechanical equipment, the physical activities of communication equipment encompass the transmission and exchange of information and energy across physics, electromagnetism, and information domains. This paper explores the unique challenges encountered in the T&E of communication equipment and introduces the concept of communication network equipment T&E driven by digital twin technology. Building on this, a reference architecture based on the five-dimensional model of digital twin is proposed, providing a theoretical framework for applying digital twin technology in communication equipment T&E.
