Research on simulation modeling of moling flow of phenolic thermal protection material RTM
This article develops a simulation model for the injection flow of phenolic thermal protection materials, employing a method that ensures mutual validation between experimental data and simulation results. Specifically, a molding experiment platform was established for the Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) process, suitable for conducting RTM filling experiments. During these experiments, parameters such as density, porosity, and volume fraction of the reinforcing fibers were measured, and filling experiments were conducted using anisotropic fibers. The simulation model was constructed using Fluent software, utilizing the Volume of Fluid (VOF) model to track the flow front. Material models were established, the mesh was divided, and the solver settings were configured to support the simulation process. Comparative analyses were conducted between the simulation results and both one-dimensional and two-dimensional experimental data, employing isotropic materials as controls.
