Visualisation of geometrical deviation evaluations
The role of computer animations as an efficient tool for presenting geometrical tolerancing principles, rules and indications is highlighted. A few screenshots from recently developed animations intended to demonstrate how the tolerance zone for location, orientation and form tolerances are created for a nominally flat top surface of an L-shape part with the datum feature indicated on the bottom surface of this L-shape part are shown. The screenshots with graphical assessment of the particular deviations for an actual surface are presented and it is shown that the deviation values are also available numerically.
