UNIVERSAL APPROACH OF RANKING OF SCIENTISTS'PUBLISHING ACTIVITY BY MEANS OF GENERALIZED INDEX OF SIGNIFICANCE OF PUBLICATIONS AND SOURCES OF THEIR CITATIONS PLACED IN DATABASES: RSCI, WOS AND SCOPUS

The goal of the work: to propose an integrated approach to assessing the publication activity of scientists, which has a more effective basis compared to existing approaches and their modifications. The significance of the goalstems from the necessity to devise an algorithm for quantifying the significance of a scientist's publication activities, taking into account scientific works and their citation sources, as documented in the RSCI, WoS, and Scopus information databases, and incorporating their bibliometric indicators. Methods: the approach of building the index is based on the summation of all publications and citations, taking into account the weight of journals indexed in the RSCI, WoS and Scopus, as well as the number of authors of scientific papers. Results: the weight of journals in which articles are published and referenced is set depending on their quartiles. Practical significance: the approach algorithm allows using the proposed complex index to differentiate and fairly establish the ratings of scientists in their teams.

Practical significance: the approach algorithm allows using the proposed complex index to differentiate and fairly establish the ratings of scientists in their teams.
