Optimal gain rectangular aperture horn antenna design based on 2.4 GHz
In recent years, radio waves based on the 2.4 GHz operating frequency have been widely used in mobile communications, but still face challenges such as signal attenuation and interference in high-speed data transmission and long-distance transmission. In addition, with the increasing requirements on high-frequency bandwidth and antenna performance, the research and optimization of rectangular aperture horn antennas have received increasing attention. In order to tackle these problems, the WR430 rectangular waveguide, measuring 4.30 inches in width and 2.15 inches in height, feeds the horn with a rectangular aperture horn antenna that operates exceptionally well in the 2.4 GHz band. The coaxial line, which has a characteristic impedance of 50 Ω, introduces the excitation signals. In order to enhance performance, the antenna construction and characteristics are additionally optimized through simulation and analysis using Ansys HFSS. The simulation results show that the designed antenna has 37.9% bandwidth and 19.6dB maximum gain in 2.4GHz band. By applying it to the 2.4GHz band, it can meet the demand of high gain antenna in high-speed wireless communication and improve the coverage and transmission rate of the system. Its benefits include a straightforward design, a broad bandwidth, a substantial power capacity, and ease of usage and adjustment.
