Operation principle of display device and optimization design research
In the modern society, the display device has been highly developed for decades of years as there is a larger and larger need for electronic devices due to the rapid increasing in population and urbanization. The article first introduces the working principles of three main display technologies: digital tubes, liquid crystal displays (LCDs), and micro-LEDs. Digital tubes are primarily used in clocks, calculators, and electronic counters due to their simplicity, durability, and low cost, but their display capabilities are limited, making it difficult to present complex characters and colors. LCDs, with their high energy efficiency, good brightness, and high contrast, are widely applied in smartwatches and holographic storage, but they have drawbacks such as limited viewing angles and slower response times. Micro LEDs, known for their high resolution, brightness, and long lifespan, excel in areas such as technological innovation, chip design, and biosensors, but their high cost and complex manufacturing processes limit their widespread adoption. The article concludes by summarizing the current technical, cost, and societal challenges faced by display devices and suggests that future development directions could be promoted through government investment, material innovation, and emerging technologies.
