Doubly fed induction generator-based wind power generation: advanced controls and applications
Wind power has received a lot of attention due to the growing demand for electricity and the requirements of sustainable development. In wind power plants, doubly fed induction generators (DFIG) are commonly used since their outstanding efficiency and various control choices. DFIG based wind turbines (WT) need more complex, powerful control methods to increase power production performance and reliability of the system, and powerful controllers are an essential component of powerful control strategies. The study on various types of controllers is reviewed and compared in this work. These controllers are used in DFIG based WT systems for stabilization and maximum power extraction. Furthermore, this study explores WT system controller research trends for the future.
