Graphene: in-depth research, applications, and challenges in advanced technology
Graphene, a two-dimensional material discovered in 2004, has quickly become a groundbreaking material due to its exceptional properties, such as high electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, and thermal stability. This review explores graphene's synthesis, applications, and the challenges it faces in advanced technology. The first section examines the mechanical and chemical exfoliation methods used to produce graphene, highlighting the advantages and limitations of each technique. The second section delves into the functionalization of graphene, focusing on graphene oxides and carbon nanotubes, which enhance graphene's versatility and enable its use in a broader range of applications. The final section discusses the integration of graphene in cutting-edge technologies, specifically transistors and solar cells, where graphene's unique properties offer significant improvements in performance and efficiency. However, challenges such as scalability, production costs, and integration with existing technologies remain. This review underscores the potential of graphene in revolutionizing various industries, while also emphasizing the need for continued research to overcome the technical barriers that hinder its widespread adoption.
