Application of FPGA in sensor data fusion for autonomous driving vehicles

In modern society, with the development of science and technology, autonomous driving technology has gradually been integrated into our lives. People know that the autonomous driving system is very important for cars of this era because this system can bring convenience to people, and the working principle of this system mainly relies on fast and accurate image processing technology to issue instructions to the car. This article will introduce a new FPGA-based system, which is a key component of data fusion in autonomous driving applications because it can achieve accelerated image feature extraction. In addition, by leveraging the parallel processing capabilities of FPGA technology, the system significantly reduced latency and increased throughput, thereby greatly optimizing performance. Finally, this paper proved the efficiency and scalability of the system, making it an important part of the data fusion pipeline of autonomous vehicles, and the future development and research of autonomous vehicles will focus on improving resolution support and improving feature extraction capabilities.
