Simulation of a PID controller for DC servo motor using octave online

Direct current (DC) servo motors are extensively used in industrial sections that require precise motion control like robots, computer numerical control (CNC) machines, and aerospace systems. Nevertheless, conventional proportion integration differentiation (PID) controllers frequently encounter difficulties like adjusting parameters, managing system nonlinearities, and addressing external disturbances. Therefore, it is important to restrict their efficacy in attaining optimal performance. To tackle these problems, this work utilizes Octave Online to systematically simulate and optimize the behavior of the PID controller. The research employs step response and root locus analysis to determine the ideal PID parameters that improve system stability, decrease overshoot, and minimize settling time. The research results demonstrate that the enhanced PID controller offers a rapid rising time, minimal overshoot, quick settling time and strong stability. This paper presents viewpoints on improving PID control for DC servo motors and suggests a workable solution that can greatly enhance performance in a range of industrial applications.
