Application of GaAs in microwave integrated circuits

The development of monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) has extensively leveraged gallium arsenide (GaAs) due to its superior electronic properties, particularly its high electron mobility and saturation electron velocity. These characteristics make GaAs an ideal material for high-frequency and high-speed electronic devices. This thesis first introduces the material properties and advantages of GaAs in MMIC applications, including its usage in power amplifiers and phase shifters. Secondly, it discusses the application of GaAs in MMIC control circuits and the challenges posed by emerging technologies, such as GaN-based devices. Finally, the paper explores future development trends and potential improvements in GaAs MMIC technologies. This thesis explores these aspects, providing insights that hold significant value for advancing the design and application of high-frequency electronic devices. The comprehensive analysis presented in this thesis not only contributes to the existing body of knowledge on GaAs MMICs but also serves as a foundation for future research, potentially guiding innovations in the field of microwave integrated circuits and high-frequency electronics.
