Research on the development of multilevel converter topology
The topological structure of multilevel converters is one of the keys to the study of multilevel converters. The multilevel converter has small voltage stress and good harmonic performance and is widely used in high voltage and high power conversion frequency occasions. It can effectively improve the production, transmission, and utilization efficiency of electric energy, and ensure the safe. Its function is a reliable operation in electrical equipment and power grids. This paper mainly analyzes and summarizes the topological structure of multilevel converters, and conducts a detailed review of its development, providing ideas for constructing multilevel converters that meet various occasions and have their characteristics. The article starts with a simple topological structure and then introduces a complex topological structure of cascaded basic units. Then, starting from different topological structures and combining the latest research progress at home and abroad, it explores new topological structures and new technologies of multi-level converters, providing new ideas for the development of topological structures.
